How It Began

Has this ever happened to you?

It goes something like this……..

You have been invited to a wedding, an anniversary party or some other happy celebration and bringing a gift would be the appropriate thing to do.  So off you go to the mall, all the while wondering what you will buy that isn’t super expensive.  It must be thoughtful, unique and attractive so as not to end up in the closet for regifting.  This task can be daunting and sometimes you give up your initial intention and end up settling for “nice enough.”

This is how Happy Hours Clocks began.

I was invited to a 25th anniversary party for some dear friends who probably did not need another “thing.”   What a dilemma!  As I reread the lovely custom invitation, I wondered how I could preserve it for them to capture in time their milestone anniversary.   Hoping to be inspired with a fabulous gift solution, a new and fun idea began to develop.    Since I have always been partial to clocks of all types – the more unusual the better – I wanted to figure out how I could incorporate the two into a unique keepsake.  The research began and soon, through trial and error, Happy Hours Clocks was born.

Our finished product is constructed of fine, clear, durable acrylic.  We use top of the line steel or aluminum hands and match numerals to the theme of the invitation. The timepiece itself only requires one (1) AA battery.  To compliment and accent your invitation, perfectly coordinated paper is used to highlight it.  The end result is the “Gift of a Time Remembered” providing the recipient with many happy hours. After all, their special invitation was carefully chosen and to see it preserved is indeed unique and personal.

Since that time, we at Happy Hours Clocks have taken our concept beyond the invitation to include photos, newspaper clippings, an honor roll report card and many other creative ideas.  Our customers continue to challenge us with “clocking” special moments in their lives and those of their friends and loved ones.
